Merina Gordon of Pomeroy was crowned 2009 National Cover Model at the National All-American Miss pageant at Anaheim, CA. over the Thanksgiving Holiday. She competed with 50 other thirteen- to fifteen-year-old girls and was awarded a crown, sash and a dozen red roses. In addition to being crowned National Cover Girl, Merina was awarded National Ambassador the first day of the pageant for positively portraying National American Miss in the media. Merina won this award for getting press coverage for her pageant entry and her service projects over the last three years. Her prizes included a sash, crown, and a trophy.
